How Ethnomusicology Works
MUSC 206 SP
The course provides an introduction to the discipline of ethnomusicology, offering an overview of its development and concentrating on methods, from fieldwork and interviewing through researching and writing. Weekly
focused projects, a short midterm
paper, and a substantial final project will offer orientation to a field that has been central to Wesleyan's approach to music for 40 years and to the development of global music studies.
