Mechanisms of Protein Trafficking within Cells

This is a half-semester course. It will be offered the first half of the semester. This course surveys mechanisms of membrane protein topogenesis and protein secretion starting with E. Coli and progressing to eucaryotic cells.

MAJOR READINGS

Recent journal articles and reviews.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Students will present and critique recent journal articles. In addition, there will be a take home final exam.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
