Topology II: Model Theory of Valued Fields
MATH 526 SP
This course will present results, originating with Ax-Kochen and Ershov, on the model theory of valued fields, and will apply these results to resolve certain Diophantine problems over local fields. Necessary material
from valuation theory will be
developed as needed, but students should already have taken an introductory course on model theory. Homework will be assigned regularly.
