Intermediate Problem Seminar
MATH 213 FA
The style of the course will be that of a seminar, emphasizing cooperative work and cooperative learning. Active participation on the part of the students will be an essential part of the course. The course will focus
on a small number of problems
chosen for their intrinsic interest and characterized by the fact that their study leads to diverse areas of mathematics of real depth and utility.
MAJOR READINGS
Numerous handouts
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Regular assignments for homework. Several class presentations required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
One hour TBA for group discussion and problem solving. Active participation required. Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class,
they will be dropped from the
class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
