Islamic Civilization: The Classical Age

This course surveys the historical development of Islamic civilization from the time of the Prophet Muhammad to the rise of the Ottoman state. Special emphasis will be placed on the unique cultural forms this
civilization developed and the emergence of
Islam as a world religion.
