Academic Year 2000/2001
Elementary German
GERM 101 FA
Required Sequence: GERM101 & GERM102
This is the first part of a two-semester course designed to develop the basic language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students may expect to acquire (1) the ability to speak and understand simple
German; (2) an understanding of
German grammar; (3) the capacity to read nontechnical texts; and (4) insight into German culture. Individual language-laboratory work is required. Five class meetings per week. Students have a choice on Tuesday and
Thursday between classes at 9:00 and 1
0:00 a.m. Because the computerized course registration system will not schedule an apparent time conflict, schedule adjustments must be made during the Drop/Add period.
