This course presents the emergence of a lesbian-gay minority, its politics, its culture and its distinctive institutions, in Europe and North America, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

1. Punctual and regular attendance is required. 2. This course is open to students of all sexual orientations. It isn't necessary to be lesbian or gay to enroll. There is no wait list.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed
