Environmental Literature
ENGL 184 FA

This sophomore seminar intended is for students interested in environmental writing, environmental policy, and/or environmental science. Focusing on major works of environmental history, environmental philosophy, and nature writing, this course is designed to provide students the opportunity for intensive engagement with these texts as structures of thought and pieces of writing. Rather than attempting to survey this vast field, we will read a limited number of representative texts and discuss the context in which they first appeared and the history of their influence.

Weekly short papers and a final project.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
