Reading the Third World

This course is an introduction to writing from the Third World, including works from Africa, India, South America and the Caribbean.
MAJOR READINGS
Bharati Mukherjee, Ama Ata Aidoo, and Salman Rushdie.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Essays, in-class writing, reading response journal.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Preference given to students who are simultaneously enrolling in HIST251. (You would have to add Section 01). Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor
prior to the first class, they will
be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
