Laboratory Study of Minerals

This lab course presents practical aspects of the recognition and study of the common rock-forming and ore minerals in the lab and in the field. It includes morphologic crystallography and hand specimen identification, use of the polarizing microscope, and X-ray powder diffractometry.

Laboratory exercises and quizzes approximately every other week.
