Macroeconomic Analysis
ECON 272 SP
This course introduces some of the standard theoretical and empirical tools of macroeconomics. A general (goods, labor and financial markets) equlibrium framework is used to analyze the impact of changes in consumer
preferences, firms' investment
strategies, and broad national policies (such as monetary or fiscal policies) on aggregate economic variables including employment, the inflation rate, the exchange rate, the rate of economic growth, and the distribution
of income. The goal of the course
is to instill the capacity for independent thought about economic policies and problems both in the United States and abroad.
