ECON 222 FA
This course analyzes the government's influence on economic efficiency, resource allocation, income distribution and economic growth. The course covers government spending, regulation and tax policy. Concepts discussed
include tax incidence, public
goods, benefit-cost analysis, market imperfections and externalities. Reference is made to issues of health care and environmental issues, welfare reform, the United States tax system, the federal budget and the
congressional budget process.
MAJOR READINGS

Quizzes and final as scheduled. Problem Sets. Projects/paper.
