Improvisational Forms
DANC 354 SP

This class is designed to explore various approaches to dance improvisation. Students will expand movement vocabulary, increase compositional awareness, develop their creative thinking and observational skills, and sharpen their performance presence. Material covered will include improvisation exercises, contact improvisation, structured improvisational forms and exploration of the relationship between sound and movement.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Written assignments, movement assignments, projects, performance and attendance at dance concerts.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office. Concurrent enrollment in a dance technique course at the 200-level or above. Permission of the instructor required by interview.
