Chinese Calligraphy

Calligraphy has long been considered a fine art, even a spiritual exercise, in China. This course will include penmanship, brush-writing and discussion of the etymology, development, aesthetics and philosophy of writing in Chinese.

This course is open to students of Chinese language only. There will be a course fee of no more than $30 to cover the cost of brushes, paper and other equipment.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
