High Resolution Molecular Spectroscopy

This is a lecture/discussion course in various selected topics in modern high resolution spectroscopy. Microwave spectroscopy, angular momentum theory, electronic spectroscopy of diatomic molecules and vibrational normal mode analysis, and other topics dependent upon class interest will be covered.

Weekly readings from the reserved books and other sources, no examinations.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Reading material will be on reserve in the Science Library. Desired prerequisite: a semester of quantum mechanics or equivalent. Undergraduates must have taken CHEM337 or the Physics equivalent, PHYS315.
