Patterns of Organic Reactions II
CHEM 359 FA
The patterns of organic reactions covered in Part I, CHEM259, are extended to include reactions involving carbocations, radicals, and pericycles. The workshop is designed to be helpful to all undergraduate and graduate
students with an interest in
organic chemistry. Problems are presented and solved in class.
MAJOR READINGS
A work manual is provided.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Grading (pass/fail) is based on completion of problem assignments.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
The introductory workshop, CHEM259, is a strongly recommended, but not obligatory, prerequisite. This course will start at mid-semester. Students have five days after the start of the course to add it. They must drop
the course by November 10.
