Principles of Organic Chemistry II
CHEM 252 SP
This course is a continuation of the chemistry of carbon compounds with emphasis on the chemistry of important functional groups. The laboratory course CHEM258 is normally elected concurrently but is not required.
MAJOR READINGS
ORGANIC CHEMISTRY by Solomon, 6th edition.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Four or five one-hour exams plus a comprehensive final and periodic review quizzes.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Students in the course are expected to attend a weekly discussion section. Grades for quizzes and class participation amount to the equivalent of an hour examination.
