Signaling Across the Plasma Membrane in Growth and Differentiation
BIOL 341 FA

The course will focus on the various cell surface receptors that serve as information transducers for signals from outside of the cell, such as growth factors and the extracellular matrix. We will also examine the downstream signaling cascades that eventually result in an altered pattern of gene expression.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Oral presentations and one research paper.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Course will be taught part in lecture style and part in participating seminar style. Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
