Museum Studies
ARHA 360 SP

This is a museum studies seminar focusing on studying works of art firsthand to examine issues of quality, style, and technique. In addition to weekly sessions in the Davison Art Center Print Room, students will work on independent projects of their choice. Special emphasis will be placed on learning how to catalog an original work of art and how to produce catalog entries and exhibition labels.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Four catalogue entries (2-3 pages each) on individual works of art and a term paper on your chosen artist's work.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

This is a museum studies seminar focusing on curatorial methods and exhibition development. Permission of instructor required.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
