Architecture and Monastic Life to the 13th Century

This course examines architecture and, to a lesser extent, sculpture and painting of the Christian Monastic tradition with special focus on such topics as monastic life, ritual and industry.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

One or two short projects, one longer paper (10-12 pages); mid-term, final.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate with the instructor prior to the first class they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed drop/add form to the Registrar's Office.
