The Human Skeleton
ANTH 349 FA

This course is a general introduction to a range of osteological topics including evolution of bipedalism, mechanical properties of bone, histology, functional and comparative anatomy, growth and development, age and sex determination, paleodemography, paleopathology, dietary reconstruction, assessment of biological relatedness. Course will include lectures, demonstrations and hands-on exercises.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Four in-class exams plus a final paper.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
